Línea Nacional de Atención a Mujeres en Situación de Violencia

Open 24/7

National 24/7 free and confidential telephone service providing orientation and support to women experiencing domestic and gender-based violence. Staffed by specialized professionals who provide active listening, counseling, and referrals to psychological and legal services. Available nationwide.

Casa de la Mujer de la Unión

Civil society organization founded in 1987 that provides free specialized psycho-social-legal support services for women over 18 in situations of domestic violence. Operates in Montevideo and Canelones in partnership with government agencies, offering counseling, advocacy, and support from a gender and human rights perspective.

National child protection hotline operated by INAU (Instituto del Niño y Adolescente del Uruguay). Receives reports of child abuse, maltreatment, sexual abuse, exploitation, and rights violations affecting children and adolescents. Provides diagnostic assessments and coordinates interventions with relevant organizations.

Narcóticos Anónimos Uruguay

Narcotics Anonymous is a free international fellowship of recovering addicts. NA offers peer support to anyone who wants to stop using drugs. Currently has 200 weekly meetings with 70 active groups throughout Uruguay in 14 departments. The NA method relies entirely on mutual support from members - one addict helping another. No fees or dues for membership.
