Helplines in Palestine

SAWA Foundation works to combat violence against women and children and offers free psychological support to victims of violence. They provide guidance, primary medical, legal, and psychological support services 24/7 over the phone and free of charge.

Palestinian Civil Defense is an emergency and rescue organization under the Ministry of Interior. Responds to natural catastrophes, fires, rescues, external military attacks and other emergencies. Operates 46 fire stations across West Bank and Jerusalem with 12-minute target response time.

Telephone service managed by the Family and Juvenile Protection Department (FJPD) of the Palestinian Civil Police. Dedicated to callers, particularly women and children, seeking support and guidance if experiencing violence, threats, or abuse. Provides information and referrals to appropriate services. Critical first point of contact for domestic violence and violations.

GCMHP is a non-profit organization established in 1990 working in mental health and human rights. Provides clinical, social, research and training services. Offers toll-free telephone counseling service where specialists provide consultations, teletherapy, and patient referrals. Advocates for rights of women, children, and victims of violence.

AISHA works to protect and help women and children from violence through raising awareness of psychological, social, legal, and economic issues. Provides psychosocial support, legal assistance, and economic empowerment. Focuses on women with disabilities, women-headed households, and children aged 6-12. Operates in Gaza City and Northern Gaza.

WCLAC is an independent Palestinian NGO established to develop a democratic Palestinian society based on gender equality and social justice. Provides legal aid, social counselling and protection services to women throughout Palestine, including East Jerusalem and West Bank. Expanded helpline and referral services during COVID-19.

PSCCW was established in Bethlehem in 1997, providing mental health, legal aid, economic empowerment, and raising awareness. Works in West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem. Aims to empower the most vulnerable groups, especially women and girls, through holistic approach providing psychological support, social support, and legal services.

A volunteer-run peer support hotline for individuals seeking support or information related to sexuality, LGBTQ+, and gender identity. Provides a safe, confidential space for sensitive issues and can offer support or referrals. Operated by alQaws for Sexual and Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society.

Nafs for Empowerment provides psychological and social counseling, mental health support, and community development services. They offer psychosocial support sessions for vulnerable populations, particularly children and women affected by conflict in Gaza. Services include mental health counseling, training programs, and community empowerment initiatives.

PCC provides a range of mental health services including counseling, capacity building, and prevention programs. They work to improve the quality of mental health services for the general population and strengthen the capacity of service providers in the field. Services include trauma support, youth programs, and emergency psychological assistance.
