Lifeline/ChildLine Namibia

Main helpline Open 24/7

Namibia's primary national crisis helpline providing 24/7 free support for mental health, child protection, and gender-based violence. The 116 Child HelpLine assists children with emotional distress, abuse, school and family problems. The 106 GBV HelpLine assists those in domestic violence situations and serves as an entry point for reporting human trafficking. Also provides face-to-face counselling in Windhoek.

Namibian Police - Gender Based Violence Protection Unit

Open 24/7

Namibian Police Force Gender-Based Violence Protection Units handle reports of rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, and other forms of gender-based violence. Call 10111 (police emergency number) to reach GBV units. Note: Survivors have reported challenges with police response quality and investigation delays.

Regain Trust

Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Registered charitable trust established 2015 providing FREE psycho-social support services for survivors of gender-based violence. Offers psychological therapy, counseling, referrals, awareness campaigns, and advocacy. Services available in Khomas (Windhoek), Omusati, and Erongo regions.

Windhoek Central Hospital - Mental Health Care Centre

Mon-Fri, outpatient clinic Mon/Wed

Public government mental health facility providing outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services to adults and children. Offers multidisciplinary care including psychiatry, clinical psychology, occupational therapy, and social work services. Outpatient clinic operates Mondays and Wednesdays, with outreach clinics throughout Windhoek Monday-Friday.

Alcoholics Anonymous Namibia

Meetings Mon/Wed/Thu 7pm

Fellowship of people sharing experience, strength and hope to recover from alcoholism. Free peer support meetings held at Methodist Church opposite Windhoek Public Library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7pm. Self-supporting group following the 12-step program.

Legal Assistance Centre (LAC)

Mon-Fri 8:00-11:30 & 14:00-16:00 (Fri closes 15:00)

Public interest law centre providing FREE legal aid, advice, and representation in constitutional and public interest cases. Services include education, law reform, research, litigation, and human rights advocacy. Focuses on making law accessible to those with least access, including work on domestic violence, abortion rights, and social justice issues.

Youth Friendly Clinics

Clinic hours

FREE government health clinics for young people providing sexual and reproductive health services, family planning, psychosocial support and counseling, HIV testing, antenatal care, STI screening and treatment, and referral services. Includes outreach on life skills and sexuality education.

Namibia Mental Health Association (NAMHA)

Social welfare organization registered with Ministry of Health and Social Services that supports mentally challenged persons in Namibia through support group meetings and mental health information.

Provides FREE pro-bono legal services for community members experiencing violence or discrimination, and operates a health clinic at their Windhoek West headquarters accessible to LGBT+ community for basic health needs.
