Helplines in Dominica

Lifeline Dominica is a faith-based NGO providing professional counseling, psychosocial support, and victim support services. They offer a GBV helpline, safe refuge placements, and free support for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services are provided in collaboration with Crimestoppers Dominica.

Provides free, unbiased, impartial internet security advice and resources on online safety. Offers information on protecting against cyberbullying, online exploitation, harassment, and other digital safety risks. Educational resource, not crisis intervention.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force handles emergency calls and law enforcement. Contact for reporting crimes, emergencies, and public safety issues including child protection, trafficking, and domestic violence situations requiring police intervention.

The Bureau of Gender Affairs is the national machinery within the Ministry of Social Services, Family and Gender Affairs. They provide free counseling and referral services to victims of Gender Based Violence, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and related issues. All services are provided free of charge.

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. Free peer support meetings. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking.

The National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit is a government agency providing drug prevention education, community programs, and resources. Offers school-based prevention programs, community outreach, and information on drug abuse issues. This is primarily an educational/prevention service, not direct crisis intervention.

The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Social Services oversees health centers and the Social Welfare Division. Provides government health and social support services, including mental health resources and social assistance. Free government services.

The Dominica Red Cross Society provides humanitarian services and disaster relief. They assist communities during emergencies, natural disasters, and crisis situations. Free services focused on disaster response, first aid, and humanitarian assistance.
