The PEMA Helpline

The PEMA Secretariat is Bhutan's national nodal agency for mental health promotion and services. They operate helplines 1010 (immediate danger/crisis) and 1098 (mental health support, women and children, vulnerable groups) providing 24/7 crisis intervention, counseling, child protection, gender-based violence support, and services for trafficking survivors. The PEMA also offers substance use disorder treatment through residential programs and hospital-based care across Bhutan.

RENEW (Respect Educate Nurture & Empower Women)

RENEW is a non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged women and girls, particularly survivors of sexual and gender-based violence. They provide free counseling, legal aid, 24-hour shelter (Happy Home), livelihood support, and emergency medical aid. Services are available throughout Bhutan.

Royal Bhutan Police - Emergency Services

Open 24/7

Royal Bhutan Police provides emergency response services including general emergencies (113), medical emergencies/ambulance (112), fire and rescue (110), traffic (111), and disaster communication (999). These are emergency dispatch services for immediate life-threatening situations.

Chithuen Phendhey Association (CPA Bhutan)

CPA Bhutan is a Civil Society Organization established in 2011 under Royal Patronage offering free treatment and support for substance use disorders. They provide residential treatment combining evidence-based practices with mindfulness and meditation, aftercare programs, relapse prevention, and skills training for employment reintegration.
